[Home-on-the-range] Colorado's new state minimum wage laws

I read this in the pueblo paper and wondered why not in Kansas.

 One of Colorado's new state laws that will go into effect Jan. 1, A mandatory increase in the minimum wage from $7.64 an hour to $7.78. That required raise is based on recent increases in the Consumer Price Index for the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area.
