Thanks to Apps Gone Free I found a useful app to remember those all important birthdays. Here is how you use it followed by the link in the Uk app store.
1. At the welcome screen, double tap on import.
2. At the Facebook screen double tap either don't allow or ok up to you.
This is because the app can either import birthdays from Facebook and or Contacts.
3. Once set up, double tap a contact whose birthday is on a particular day.
4. Here you have options to post on their wall or send them an Sms.
