Greetings Everyone,

With the release of iOS 7 due out tomorrow, there has been discussions about what devices might not be ready to receive the updates. The major reason for this stems from bugginess or decreases in overall user experiences and responsiveness. With this stated, here is a list of devices you might wish to hold off on updating at the current time:

iPhone 4
iPad 2nd Generation
iPad 3rd Generation
iPad Mini

This is not the only reason why novice iOS device users might want to wait to update their devices. Many apps are still being updated to simply work as intended within iOS 7. A major reason for this is that iOS 7 includes many changes that forced developers to rework their apps. With this stated, it is recommended that you might want to wait to update your devices for a couple of weeks over concerns that some apps have yet to be updated.

For those who will be updating your devices, I have a few recommendations for you to complete prior to taking the plunge,

1. Update your apps. Go into the App Store, select the Update tab, and update ALL apps before updating your iOS device.
2. Back up your devices before updating. Connect the iOS device to your computer and make sure your device has been backed up before proceeding.
3. Practice some form of calming meditations. It is not worth it to be frustrated over user experiences with a device. Take your time and report bugs to the app developers and Apple as you come across them. Here is the email address for accessibility at Apple. Keep in mind that some issues might not be related to accessibility (aka Zoom or Voice Over) but rather the iOS itself.
