Dear Community Stakeholder,

This is an important opportunity for you to have a say in shaping long-term growth and spending plans for the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County. Over the past couple of years, our community has begun the difficult work of planning for a variety of issues, opportunities and challenges. We believe this planning work is important in determining where we are headed, and how we make decisions and work together in ways that are positive for the quality of life in our community. 

Today, we’re inviting you to be a part of the Community Investments Plan. This is a long-term plan for the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County which focuses on policies for growth and investment for the next 20 years. The planning process started last year with a community survey - now is the time to build on that information with your individual input as an important stakeholder.

During the month of April, the first of a two-part series of meetings will take place. This first phase consists of a series of four Informal ‘come and go’ community open house meetings designed to:

o   Ask how we can best grow as a community in the future;

o   Get your ideas on how we should best invest in our public infrastructure in order to:

1.       Promote economic growth, development and job creation

2.       Advance community quality of life, health and safety

3.       Retain our young professionals and create a place where future generations will want to live, work and play

These meetings will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the following Wichita locations. Please drop by and visit one at your convenience.
