NFBLive is usable by all who want to participate if you have a computer, and it works on a Windows or Mac platform. Unless it has changed the apps for I devices aren’t as good as they could be, but it is being worked on. You need a microphone; most laptops have them built in. You have to download a small program and once you are enrolled in the program you are offered the opportunity to painlessly download that software. Apparently, the Kansas affiliate did not pay for their room because it is no longer listed, but you can still use the site. I don’t know what you have to do to use the event center or learning room. You all could subscribe and try out some games and the like, and there are beginning to be other programs. Michael Hingson is going to be speaking next Monday, and tomorrow night they are having a program in general on the memorial of September 11, 2001.

On Tuesday nights we have a chat from 7-8 at Bob and Cindy’s room on there, but anyone can come visit us to see what it is like to use the site, but you do have to subscribe first. Seems that Iowa and Kansas are reluctant to use this.

Perhaps in the future some of our board and committee meetings could convene on this platform, but we’ll have to consider it carefully and make sure the NFBLive platform is useable bhy all who want to participate. Now that we’ve made the investment, we truly need to find ways to get our money’s worth.
