[Home-on-the-range] Corrected instructions to reserve room for state convention

Hi. Just another word on making a reservation through the toll- free national number. Last week, Ron and I made our reservations through that number and, of course, were charged the higher price. The charge has already been processed on our credit card and we have been advised that since we made reservations through their service, there is no refund. Bummer.

Subject: [Home-on-the-range] Corrected instructions to reserve room for state convention

Hello Kansas Federation family,

It has come to my attention that some of our members have had difficulty in getting the Doubletree hotel reservations staff to recognize the special $99 per night room rates. Upon careful investigation of the matter I have concluded that the problem is traceable to the use of the toll-free national reservations line that was posted in the most recent issue of the Tap Tracks newsletter. Therefore, to reserve a room at the Lawrence Doubletree by Hilton hotel you will need to dial the following number:
785-841-7077. Do not use the national toll-free reservation line, As the special room rate was arranged with local hotel personnel. If you have already reserved a room using the national number, Please do not hesitate to contact me so that we can troubleshoot the matter with our contact person at the hotel.

Please be further advised that a block of rooms is available through Friday, October 20. However, if you attempt to book your reservation after that date your reservation will be excepted as long as a room is still available.

Last but not least, if you have been approved by state president page for financial assistance for the convention, do not make your own reservation. A state convention planner will do this on your behalf.

Meanwhile, we are excited about this year‘s convention and hope to see you all there. Will see you in Lawrence at the Doubletree on November 10.

Best regards,
Robert Tabor first vice president
