Hi Everyone,

Here is a message from Shelia Wright. We have a great opportunity here. It might be worth even coming from Lawrence for this event.

Below is the information I received from Terrence Moore at the Apple Store in Leawood. Susie if you can share this with Tom and Kerm that would be great. Also David would you be available if we can make arrangements with the apple Store on the Plazza?

Hello Sheila,

Thank you for discussing the May 17th Global Accessibility Awareness Day event that we are planning at our Apple Leawood store and at the Apple Country Club Plaza store.

I am forwarding this email to Tara Turnbull at the Plaza store since you have worked with them in the past and that location works best for NFB of Missouri.

Please forward this email to your peer here in Leawood and I would love to host their group for our Leawood store.

We can keep this email thread going to plan specific sessions from the list below and times.

Thank you!

Terrence

Hi Sheila,

My name is Terrence Moore and I’m a Senior Manager at the Apple Store in Leawood, KS. Hope this finds you well.

Your organization was recommended to me for all the amazing blindness and low vision work you do in our community. I’d love to learn more about NFB of Missouri and share some new, exciting offerings we have in the store that could benefit the blind and low vision community you work with.

If you’re interested in connecting, please let me know the best contact number and a few days and times that work best for you to chat.

Thank you,

Terrence Moore

Senior Manager

Apple Leawood

P.S. Before we chat, here are a few sessions we offer that will give you a good idea of what I want to share with you:

Voiceover for iPad and iPhone

Explore more about the assistive technology of VoiceOver for iPad or iPhone. For people who are blind or have vision loss, Voiceover lets you hear a description of what's happening on your screen. We'll navigate shortcuts, and discover how to adjust speaking and pitch rate.

Voiceover for Mac

For people who are blind and have low vision, discover great ways to use VoiceOver on your Mac. We’ll show you how VoiceOver gives you customizable control without needing to see the screen.

iPad and iPhone with Vision Loss

Discover how to interact with iPad and iPhone if you have vision loss. We'll share assistive features like how to improve readability by activating Larger Dynamic Type. Magnifier makes an object easier to see, while Speak Selection and Speak Screen can read contents of the screen to you.

Using Mac with Vision Loss

Discover the different ways to interact with Mac for those with vision loss. This session will explore assistive technologies like Zoom, and some of its capabilities. We’ll help you start a document in Pages using Zoom or ask Siri to perform a search for documents in Finder.
