There has been braille on elevators in public buildings in New York since 1972. It would not surprise me if this did indeed happen as it was told. Blind people apparently don’t study organic chemistry or advanced biology in any but a very very few cases, either. I have encountered two major types of instructors and administrators where I spend a lot of my time. The first kind is ready to do only that which is absolutely bare-bones legally required. The second kind is committed to equal access. That is all.
