Hi Folks,

A few of us have been working on procuring some training for our leaders and
ultimately members at the state level on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We have found a vendor we like and are working on the way forward. We
wanted to open it up to other affiliates who also may be interested.

The first stage will focus on leaders. For example, in Maryland I plan to
have the affiliate board, all chapter boards, and all division boards
participate as well as members of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,
convention planning, and scholarship committees. There is a financial
commitment if you?d also like this training for your state. The more states
who participate, the less expensive for each of us. We are aiming for this
spring for delivery, and the training will be formatted in either one full
day session or two half-day sessions.

If you are interested in this training for your affiliate, please reach out
to me by March 15.

Below are the high-level key areas that would be covered in the training:

*	Explain diversity, equity, and inclusion terminology, importance,
and necessity within an organization;
*	Walk through ways to identify, mitigate, and understand unconscious
bias;
*	Define inclusive leadership and the six traits of commitment,
collaboration, cognizance of bias, courage, curiosity, and cultural
intelligence;
*	Discuss the diversity of ideas, market, customers, and talent and
how these shifts amplify need for DEI and inclusive leadership; and
*	Identify DEI linkages within NFB?s organization to address concerns
intentionally.

Thanks,

Ronza
