Subject: Coming up Saturday: Braille Study Group, iPhone Chats for Beginner and Intermediate Users

Hi everyone,

We had a great time last week continuing our iPhone chat for beginners and launching our chat for intermediate users. Like the Braille study group, these chats are less formal and more discussion-driven than a typical workshop, and you can attend any Saturday you like (through the end of February) without committing to be there every time. If you're not sure which iPhone chat you fit into, feel free to tune into either or both, and see what works for you. To give you an idea, last week's beginner group talked about basic gestures, the Voiceover shortcut, strategies for when Voiceover talks too much, and how to use the home screens and app switcher. The intermediate group explored the Reminders app, shared recommendations for using the Calendar more efficiently, talked about the pros and cons of different headphones, and went over how to make custom gestures.

Below, here's how to join any or all of our Saturday workshops:

If you’re new to using Voiceover on the iPhone or if you’re still working toward confidence, this discussion group is for you. We’ll spend some time going over the theory of how screen readers work, gestures everyone needs to know, and some strategies for getting help. Then, we’ll open it up for questions and networking. This event will take place online.
