Hello Fellow Federationists, family and friends,  

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Kansas 2022 State convention will be
held November 4-6, 2022.  At The Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center
3320 S. 9th St. Salina KS 67401.  Reservations can be made by calling
785-309-0440.  Deadline for making reservations is October 13, 2022.   Room
rates are $109.00  a night.  If you make your reservations after the
deadline you will be charged full price for your room.  So let's get those
reservations in soon!    

 

The theme for this year's state convention is "Rising Expectations".
Convention will begin on Friday, November 4th, at 2:00 PM with an ABC'S of
the NFB seminar.  At 5:00 PM will be registration and hospitality.
Hospitality will have a cash bar and an assortment of hors d'oeuvres.
Vendors will be available from 6:00 -10:00 PM.  Resolutions and nominating
will be from 7:00-10:00 PM.  

 

Saturday, November 5th, will begin bright and early with registration at
8:00 AM and general session starting at 9:00 AM.  Lunch will be at noon
where we will enjoy street tacos, beans, rice and chips and salsa.  The
street tacos also come in a vegetarian option.  The Senior's Division will
break away and have a separate lunch and business meeting.  After lunch we
will return to general session and it will conclude at 5:00 PM.  The evening
festivities will include a "Happy Hour" with cash bar, beginning at 6:00 PM.
The banquet starts at 7:00 PM.  We will be served a delicious steak dinner
with all the fixings.  There is also a vegetarian option.  Kevan Worley will
deliver a inspiring key note address at the banquet.  Immediately following
the banquet we will be entertained with music and dancing.  

 

Don't stay on the dance floor too late Saturday night! Sunday, November 6th,
the NFBKS In Communities Of Faith will have a breakfast meeting at 7:00 AM.
A plated breakfast of scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, fruit and assorted
breads will be served.  The NFBKS business meeting will begin at 9:00 AM.
The hotel has a solid check out time of 11:00 AM.  So to be on the safe side
you may want to check out before the business meeting starts.  The hotel
will hold your luggage behind the front desk for you until you are ready to
leave.
