Greetings Kansas federationists and friends,
The bill previously known as SB 258 has been bundled into HB 2016 and will be considered by the full state senate tomorrow.  There are many problems with this bill which, if enacted, would limit an individual's ability to sue under the ADA in Kansas. It has been brought to my attention that some of the bill's proponents are using scare statements regarding blind access to fuel pumps and are acting as though there are no guidelines concerning creating accessible web sites.  I am attaching a letter that I sent to the members of our state senate today.
There is still time for any of you who have not sent     a personal message to your senator.  To find your senators info go to the find your legislator heading and enter your address at the open states web site:

Your email or phone message can be as simple as 'I am a blind citizen living in your district.  I want to urge you to vote no on HB 2016.  Please feel free to contact me at... for more information.  Thanks.

Thanks for all you do!Tom
