Hello Fellow Federationist.

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over and the NFB national convention is done and behind us now. And we have our state convention soon approaching... Where did the months go?

The Johnson-Wyandotte County chapter will hold its August meeting on Friday the 8th, 2025 at Dennys Restaurant, located at, 10480 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas.

You are invited to come and gather for a group meal at 5:00 pm. Afterwards we will begin our meeting via Zoom at 6:30 pm.

Treasurer Report - Don Mulik (Vote)

            Treasures note: chapter members dues and Walk for Independence checks need to be submitted soon. Chapter "Paypal" account active now.

Chapter Business & Activates:

*	Membership. To our executive board, I would like to get all of our new 2025 members list. So it can be submitted for recognition at our Kansas State convention.

*	 

*	Midwest Abilities Summit – August 9th. Confirmed.

*	 

*	Independent Inc. (CIL) will officially open its doors on July 7th, and hopes to have its open house event sometime in August. Please let everyone who lives in Kansas with a Disability, there is a new center for independent living organization now servicing the Johnson and Wyandotte County area.

*	 

*	KC Zoo has its Boo at the Zoo Halloween event, the weekend before Halloween, October 31st. I like to know if the chapter would like me to provide more information about this event.

*	 

*	Sports and Rec group would like to know if anyone is interested in going to the Renaissance fair this year.

*	 

*	The Blind All-Stars 5K Walk/Run. Is soon approaching in September. please register if you wish to attend and show our support to our young blind students.

*	 

*	Game and Movie night – Jody Mulik
*	This Months Birthday’s

NFB Presidential Release (Played).

National Business:

*	National Convention (Update).  From members who attended The NFB Convention which was held in New Orleans Louisiana.

State Business:

*	Kansas State Convention is October 31st, to November 2nd. registration information will soon be available on our website at  <http://www.nfbks.org/> www.nfbks.org. Also, please let us know how many of our members plan to attend so we can make transportation arrangements if needed.

*	 

*	Sports & Rec, is planning a outing at “Keeper of the Plain’s and Wichita’s Veterans Memorial” Park Walk excursion for  Sate Convention. which will start around 10:30 AM. And we will be doing a Halloween trick-or-treat, come Friday evening.
