Activity: Virtual version of the game TICK TOCK BOOM

Description: TICK TOCK BOOM is an explosively fun word game. We hate to drop a bomb, but the pressure is on with TICK TOCK BOOM.

The rules are simple, but explosive.

  1. First, Jody will roll the die to see where the player’s letters will go. Don will tell everyone what Jody rolled.

  1. If she rolled TICK, the letters on the player’s card must be used at the beginning of the word.
  2. If the letters are BO, the player could say BOSS or BOUNTY.

  1. If she rolled TOCK, the letters on the player’s card must be used at the end of the word.

  1. If the letters are MEL, the player could say CAMEL or CARAMEL.

  1. If she rolled BOOM, the letters on the player’s card may be used anywhere in the word.

  1. If the letters are OUR, the player could say COURAGE or DETOUR.

  1. Don will now turn over the top card from the pile, read the letters on the card, and set the timer. The timer looks like a bomb (a black ball with a fuse).

  1. If the player can use the letters on the card correctly in a word, that player shouts the word and Don will assign the timer to the next player.

  1. If the player cannot think of a word, that player can shout “PASS” and Don will assign the timer to the next player. The player who passed is not penalized in any way.

  1. The next player uses the same letters and must come up with a different word.

  1. You are flirting with danger. Each round starts off easy, but gets harder and harder as more words are called out. The timer is assigned from player to player until time runs out.

  1. If a player is assigned the timer when it explodes, that player loses the round and Don adds one to that player’s card count.

  1. Steps 1 through 8 are repeated until one hour has passed. At that time, the player with the lowest card count wins the game and a nice prize.

  1. Good luck!

I hope you will be able to join us.
