Hello, fellow NFB chapter members. I am attaching a draft of the minutes of last month’s meeting. Since you will have a chance to read them before our May 9th, meeting, I will not read them at that meeting.
Sincerely,
Jody Mulik
Secretary
----------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone, this is Michael Nava, President of our Johnson-Wyandotte county chapter. I personally informed our secretary, that the readings of the minutes will no longer be done at live meetings. Because it slows down the flow of our chapter meetings. Jody, has has been doing an excellent job of documenting the activities at each chapter meeting. Also, in the past Jody had to bring. The minutes, printed in braille, her recorder and other items. This, in my opinion, the actual reading of last month's minutes was unnecessary, and a extra burden to jody Mulik, Who normally send out a digital copy to our members.
So please read the minutes when sent out, at your leisure and in the comfort of your homes. if you have not received the minutes by the time, the meeting is close at hand. Please contact Jody of this issue and a copy can be easily sent out to anyone who request it. Because the minutes will not be read, and as for me. I will be asking anyone who has read the minutes, have any comments changes or updates to be added to last month's minutes. If I hear "No reply." I will ask, can I have a motion on, The chapter minutes be accepted as submitted to our members.
also, in keeping with our national and affiliate President's request, for us to having a more formal meeting format. I will be sending out an agenda for our upcoming meetings. If any of our chapter members have any request or activities, they wish to discuss for our next up-coming meeting. Please reach out to me and I will do my best to add it to the next chapter agendas.
If there are any last-minute changes or request, that could not be added to our agenda. At the end of each meeting, There will be a"Open topic" portion. Where members have an opportunity to discuss any current events or activities that our chapter members would be interested in hearing. For those who wish to speak during this time. Please keep it brief and focused on the subject, with a possible Q&A.
I hope that this will create a better interactive chapter that will encourage continued participation from all our members. Because our chapter is here to serve the blind community of Johnson-Wyandotte County and our neighbors, of Kansas City.
Best Regards,
Michael
