Hello, Fellow Federationist.



Welcome August and soon to the end of summer heat as kids are heading back to school has started. Please come and join us for updates about our upcoming state convention from Donna Woods, and a review of NFB National convention from attendees, and several other topics of interest.



The Johnson-Wyandotte County chapter will hold its next meeting on Friday, August 14Th.  At Denny’s Restaurant, located at 10480 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas.



You are invited to come and gather for a group meal, if you wish to order, at 5:00 pm. Afterwards, we will begin our meeting via Zoom at 6:30 pm.

Chapter Business & Activities



  *   Update from Donna Woods about state convention
  *
  *    Discussions about activities, Guest speakers and fundraiser ideas for state convention.
  *
  *   Discussions about our "5K Run/Walk in the park," event set for October 2026.
  *
  *   NFBKS Sports & Rec update; Sports activities Will be part of state convention in November. A trip to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota is in the Works as well as an Eastern Caribbean Cruise, set for sometime in April or May 2027, if anyone is interested.
  *
  *   Game and Movie Night – Jody Mulik.
  *
  *   This Month's Birthdays – Jody Mulik.



NFB Presidential Release (Recorded).



National Business:



  *   NFB National Convention will be held in Austin, Texas again in 2027. Updates from our members who attended this year’s NFB convention.



State Business:



  *   Kansas State Convention is now 3 months away and set for November 13th -15th, 2026. At The Holiday Inn suites located at 8787 Reeder St. Overland Park, Kansas. The NFBKS State registrations is “Now Open!” The convention committee continues to meet regularly, with more updates to come.
