It's October, and Blind Equality Achievement Month, and that Includes White Cane Day!

The Johnson-Wyandotte County Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Kansas is inviting you to come and celebrate with us this October.



What are some ways that you think we can make our communities more inclusive for those who are blind or visually impaired? Come share your thoughts and experiences with us! Let's learn to advocate, educate, and grow together. Please join us for our annual “Blind Equality Achievement Month Walk” fundraising event:



•         October 10, 2026

•         Roe Park, 10400 Roe Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66207

•         Registration begins at 9:00 A.M. There is no registration fee, but we encourage all walkers to obtain sponsors who will be making donations to the "NFB of Kansas."

Please read and complete the registration/waiver form with sponsor sheet is attached.

•         The walk starts at 10:00 A.M., followed by a picnic lunch that lasts until 2:00 P.M. The cost of the picnic is $5 per person.
