Hello, Fellow Federationist.



Please come and join us for updates about the KC Blind All-Stars, set for Sept 19th,  our  upcoming Blind Awareness Walk in the Park and several other topics of interest.



The Johnson-Wyandotte County chapter will hold its next meeting on Friday, September 11th, At Denny’s Restaurant, located at 10480 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas.



You are invited to come and gather for a group meal, if you wish to order, at 5:00 pm. Afterwards, we will begin our meeting via Zoom at 6:30 pm.

  *   Update about the KC Blind all stars Walk/Run Event, set for September 19th, 9:00 AM at Kansas school for the Blind, KCK.

  *   Update about a special Guest speaker for our State convention. It is Dutch TenBroek, the son of Dr. Jacobus tenBroek. The founder and first president of The National Federation of the Blind (NFB). Thanks to Don and Jody Mulik.
  *
  *   KCChapter’s “Walk for Independence” is October 3Rd, in Loose Park, KCMO, 10:00 AM.-
  *   Discussions about our "Blind Awareness Walk in the park” event set for October 10th, 2026. At Roe Park
  *
  *   NFBKS Sports & Rec update; 8 Day Southern Caribbean Cruise, set for May 2nd, 2027, is going well and our numbers are growing. If anyone is interested. There is still time please call Joann, with Dream Vacations at 407–7 82–8711. And reserve your Group rate.

  *   Game and Movie Night – Jody Mulik.
  *
  *   This Month's Birthdays – Jody Mulik.

National Business:



  *   NFB National Convention will be held in Austin, Texas again in 2027. Updates from our members who attended this year’s NFB convention.



State Business:



  *   Kansas State Convention is now less than 2 months away, set for November 13th -15th, 2026. At The Holiday Inn suites located at 8787 Reeder St. Overland Park, Kansas. The NFBKS State registrations is “Now Open!” The convention committee continues to meet regularly, with more updates to come.
