Hi Ronit,

Thanks for sharing your job search experience. I am bloth blind and technically deaf(I have cochlear implants in both ears) and finished Grad school in 2006 with to internships lined up. I got my MS in counseling and have to accrue 3000 hours in order to sit for lisencure. Anyway, I completed both interships discouraged because I had tried to get hired full time w/o success. No one mentioned my disabilities but I felt this was the case. I then looked for a job and had interviews until March of 08 w/o success. Currently I am trying to get a reader/typist and a driver in order to get the applications out quicker. I need a driver due to using paratransit, which is not always the most reliable. It's discouraging when we do not get calls back and are not consideree for a job due to our blindness and in my case hearing impairment. I am glad their are positives and that we do get hired some times. I just needed to share some of my own frustrations and put myself out a bit. Sorry the message is so long.
