[humanser] Newly Employed in Human Services Question

Dear List Members,

I shared a couple of times on this list before, but I am not sure if I
provided a formal introduction. My name is Osmond and I graduated with
my MSW last May with a concentration in mental health. My internships
were in community day programs, my first year with the developmentally
disabled population and my second year with the severe and
persistently mentally ill population. I was unable to find a job for
ten months but just accepted a limited term position doing
pre-vocational preparation for young adults with disabilities. I start
next Monday. This is actually my first paid job. I'm 31 and never
thought that I would have a job that pays. I've done a ton of
volunteer work and have had several unpaid internships. I think right
now what would be really helpful is to have a mentor who is also blind
and in the helping professions. Does anyone know of such a program
where experienced blind professionals mentor those who are both blind
and new to the field?
