Mary,

The unit manager's actions sound very suspicious to me as does the "oddly 
timed meeting."
My initial internal reaction was that you were bullied and discriminated 
against.  Given the fact that you have been allowed to record meetings for 
five years, your request to record this one was reasonable especially 
because the purpose was to discuss your role.
Your response was appropriate.
Continue to do what you can to maintain control.  You are your best 
advocate.  Since you have taken all notes before, I wouldn't even suggest 
that someone else take them on your behalf.
Pleas keep us posted.
You'll be in my thoughts.
