[humanser] Maryland Law test special accommodations

Good Evening Everyone,

The Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists decided 
that I would take the Maryland Law test on the fourth Thursday instead 
of the third Wednesday as I requested.

The 36 question exam is a paper and pencil test. the BOPC informs me 
they do not have JAWS and that they would have a scribe for me.  I 
explained to them the reasons why I did not consider having a scribe 
would provide the best evidence of my knowledge of the Maryland legal 
Code as it pertains to Counselors and Therapists.

Since the BOPC remains firm what type of accommodation that they would 
provide me.  I spoke with Valerie Yingling at the National Office Legal 
Department.  She planned to meet with President Riccabono about how to 
address this letter since the special accommodation request needs to be 
in two weeks before the test date.

I had submitted my request for a computer with JAWS, the use of my 
personal keyboard due to my neuropathy, the use of my FM System for 
amplification of JAWS and double time to complete the test.  I had 
received the special accommodation with the assistance of Sharon 
Kruvor-Weisbaum, when taking the National Counseling Examination. Once I 
take the Maryland Law test, I will have my LGPC or Licensed Graduate 
Profession Counselor.

I am so close and yet so far.  I do not want to have to use a scribe; 
but I do not want to postpone taking the test until next month if I do 
not have my accommodation.  I am not found a job to complete the 2,500 
of the 3,000 clinical supervised hours that I need for full licensure as 
a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
