[humanser] Testifying in court as expert witness

Hi, Karen:

If I were you, I'd also inquire on the lawyers' list, as they could help you
from the lawyers' perspective.

Testifying in Court for any reason is one of my least favorite things to do
as a mental health practitioner. If they ask you for statistics and you
don't the numbers right off the top of your head, don't guess. They will
rake you over the coals for it. I don't want to scare you, but it's hard
work. I never had my credibility question due to my blindness and in the
case in question, my client was deaf. (Yes, we had an interpreter.) Good
luck! And don't let them intimidate you into hurrying your responses. If
you need time to think, take what time you need.
All the Best,
Susan Tabor

Has anyone had experience doing this? I am being asked to provide expert
witness testimony for a client in a medical malpractice trial. I am
wondering about cross examination and the possibility of my competence being
questioned due to being blind. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone
