You can try turning on the accessibility features for adobe: I'd have to
find them in adobe in order to tell you how to turn them on.
Also, you can try robobraille.org. That site will put books in a format you
can read most of the time.
If you are scanning the book with open book, download the open book
turtorial from Freedom Scientific. It may have how to operate pdfs from
open book in there. I know there is a way to use them in conjunction.
The layered keystroke Insert spacebar o w will at least let you see if
anything in on the screen.

All,
I hope the return from convention finds you rested and well relaxed. My
curiosities are piqued as I make an attempt to read an exciting new book
that I will share with the students with whom I will work. The problem is
this, I just downloaded JAWS 16 on my computer and at the time I was told by
Freedom Scientific that I would be able to access pdf with only the screen
reading software. I have scanned the chapters of the book but, when I open
the chapter I hear "Document unavailable". Is there something that I am
doing wrong or something that I need to do? I ask because I have found so
many on this list have great accessibility fixes. The book is a great
resource for anyone who does group work in your therapy provision. Rutan,
S., Stone, W., & Shay, J. (2014). Psychodynamic Group Psychotherapy (5th
ed.). New York, NY: The Guilford Press.
Eagerly awaiting feedback.
Thanks.
Mary Tatum Chappell, Psy. D.
