[humanser] Culturagram

Hello,
I work with the Student Disability Services at my university on
issues such as these. The curriculum committee comes up with these
assignments and often do not think how these assignments will impact all
students.
I recently had a class where the assignment was to draw a neuron and
to scan the drawing into the assignment box. Obviously, this assignment was
one that would be difficult for me to complete. SDS worked with the
curriculum committee to arrive at an alternative assignment that allowed me
to use my words to illustrate a neuron. The assignment was a success!
It is difficult to remember that collaboration is a tool that we all
have at our ready. Learning how to use this tool without compromising our
rights to a education is something we all have to work at.
Always remember that you have a valuable contribution to make to
this world and it is important to be able to share your assessments as you
experience them. It is not always necessary to fit into the box that the
world has fashioned.

Good Monday morning to all,

One of the courses I'll be taking this summer is called Multicultural Issues
in Community and Human Services, and part of the curriculum calls for the
completion of a Culturagram.

Anyone have experience with this particular assessment tool?

How about just telling me how you handle and/or prepare for highly visual
in-class activities.

Thank you in advance for any feedback,
Nefertiti
