Good point.  You can call and explain your situation.  That's letting them
know you are a person who is blind, but you are at least not lying on the
application. 
I don't know if this is a good idea or not, they could just flag it and not
interview you because of that and say you just didn't make the cut, but that
is one solution that in some cases, I'd consider. I've actually done that
before, but I didn't get the interview.  Irronically, I'm working for that
same agency now, but they are a Center for Independent living, so I'm not
sure if my story really counts.

I have a couple of suggestions about driver licenses. At one point, when I
was very interested in a position, I called the director of human resources,
explained my situation and asked her to flag my application as being
qualified, if my other attributes were suitable. She assured me that she
would do so.


Second, here is a letter I sometimes include with applications when the
driver license comes up.
