[humanser] Good report on Carepaths software

Yes. Good news indeed.

There are so many electronic medical record programs available it is a shame that there is no standardization for access built into these programs.

At my hospital we are moving from an inaccessible product, Meditech, to a more friendly program Athena. After some debate the hospital is working with a software engeneer to bring the program into usable shape for it’s “going live” date later this month.

Smaller agencies may not be able to help out as my employer is, but it has taken me 17 years of employment there to work on the need for full access.

After meeting with an accessibility consultant this week, we found that the form fields, boxes and other elements work fine -- probably well enough that we would not need any workarounds at this early stage of exploration.
