Hello Ana,
Helloea
I coordinated a program for volunteers for almost 10 years before I got into social work. While I was a student, getting my Masters, I volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for a child in foster care. I received a good deal of training and met monthly with my child. I was responsible for contacting everybody involved with my child to gather updates. Each time her case went to court, I submitted written documentation regarding the case, and giving my recommendations on what was in the best interest of the child. CASA, which is the acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a national program. I feeb the experience boosted my confidence along with the knowledge I gained.

Best,

Sandy Burgess, Msw

Hi all, I have a question. As a college student majoring in social
work, what kind of volunteer or work experience would be usefull to
have in order to enhance my resume and secure employment in the
future?
