[HumanSer] Titanium Database with Screen Reader

Hello and congratulations on starting your MSW program.

Most electronic medical records are not easily accessible. I would contact your state’s blind services and have them provide a programmer to create macros or scripts to make your EMR accessible. Without this at the start of your field work it could be months before the system becomes useful for you.

Some folks end up scanning the EMR forms into MS Word documents and creating your own templates, completing them there, then having the completed documents scanned into the EMR.

I understand that this is not the news you wish to hear and I apologize for that. We have a long way to go with this issue.

Subject: [HumanSer] Titanium Database with Screen Reader

Hi list,

I attempted to share this post yesterday, but not certain it came through.

I am about to begin my first field placement for my MSW at a university counseling center. They’ve informed me that accessing a software called Titanium will be a huge part of my responsibilities. Curious if anyone is currently using, or has used this database in the last year or two, and is doing/has done it successfully with a screen reader. If so, which one?

Thanks,
Abigail
