Hello all! I had a second interview today at a place called Heritage Senior living in Middleton Wisconsin, about a 30 minute drive from my E. Side Madison Pl. to Middleton Wisconsin. I’ll know for sure when the job offer comes electronically by the end of the week but it looks very, very promising! Mostly 1 to 1 and small group work with people with dementia and cooperate disorders like Parkinson’s. The director is totally thrilled actually to have someone with a disability come in and work and has worked with families with autistic kids before so he understands how the system can make things a challenge but people with disabilities can do much more than they get credit for if given the opportunity. He’s very flexible, easy-going and supportive of people wanting to keep up their education so it’s even a great opportunity there. Once I got used to the folks in the dementia unit and felt comfortable planning and leading on my own it’s just me and the gang. Totally excited! The director sees things as more like a family atmosphere than a manager telling people what to do with unrealistic expectations.

Thought job serve and Human Services needed a positive note this time of year. Getting to and from work might be the only thing but sounds like they might even be able to help me work that out too. Be positive everyone! There’s something out there, you just don’t know when it will materialize. Keep living the life you want!
