Hello,

As of a couple months ago when I checked on this, AIRA was still not HIPPA compliant. Although they do have some great privacy measures in place, AIRA as of a couple months ago was still not HIPPA compliant. When I spoke to someone who worked for AIRA earlier this year, I was told that they were hoping that AIRA would become HIPPA compliant by the end of this year. However, since I last checked a couple of months ago, I do not know if AIRA has sense become HIPPA compliant within the last couple of months. I was hoping that I would have been able to use AIRA for tasks related to my counseling internship over the past year. However, I personally did not feel comfortable using AIRA with confidential client information since they were not HIPPA compliant and they record all of the calls with the AIRA agents. My decision not to use AIRA for my internship for the reasons listed above was because I greatly value my client’s confidentiality. Between AIRA Recording all of the calls with the agents and the fact that they were not HIPPA compliant at the time, I was very concerned about client confidentiality. note that my decision not to use AIRA for tasks related to my internship was the best decision I felt for me and my situation. Others may feel differently. For anyone who does use AIRA with confidential client information, how do you get around the confidentiality issue given that all calls to agents are recorded and as far as I know, AIRA is not HIPPA compliant? I do think that AIRA would be a tremendous help to use in this area but, like I said, I have not been able to figure out a way around the confidentiality issue. I am open to any ideas that others may have regarding using AIRA with confidential client information.
