Hello Rachel,
I too have run into this issue. Often driving is not a major part of the
job. A driver's license is only an identification card. However they will
frequently put it in as a job requirement, just in case. I have told
employers this, "I am here and on time and will continue to do so." I
might say something about using Link, so will not waste company time
parking and the like.
Travel in cities with public transportation and ride services ought to be
easy. In urban and rural areas, not so easy.

Subject: [HumanSer] driver's license required
Hello. My name is Rachel. I have a master's in divinity. For the past two
and a half years, I have worked for the Maryland Department of Human
Services with the SNAP program. I am looking for a job in case management,
but most positions require a driver's license. How have you dealt with
this? Have you been successful in convincing your employer to provide a
reasonable accommodation?
P.S. will the human services division meeting at convention be streamed?
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Rachel
