Hi,

My name is Elizabeth. I'm a graduate student in El Paso Texas, and I am
looking to rent an apartment. I hope this is the most accurate mailing list
to ask for this kind of information. If not, I would be open to any
suggestions.
I have lived in different states, so I'm wondering if I could have some
knowledge or understanding of my rights as a blind person, with proof of
income and denying proof of income, when it comes to relying on certain
types of assistance?
I would like to know how this can fall into discrimination if that is
likely, and how to advocate for yourself and say that denying someone
because of certain assistance is not okay.
I'm curious if some states have different laws and criteria about what
counts as proof of income for renting.
