Please find attached notes from the Braille Coordinators meeting last night.
Note that there are two specific things that not only members of our NFBI
Braille Literacy committee are requested to do, but all chapter members are
asked to do RIGHT NOW: 1) Take Braille alphabet cards to businesses they
frequent and ask that they be placed by cash registers, as well as take them
to local libraries to be given with books when they are checked out 2) Set
up speaking engagements with local service groups (Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary)
that will occur after National Convention.

These two things are geared toward increasing sales of the coin. It is hoped
that we will be able to sell all 400,000 coins in order to maximize the
funds we receive. Each of you is asked to do what you can. Please know that
this work will ultimately lead to blind children and adults receiving the
training in Braille that is essential and is their right!

I will be happy to work with you to help you get the Braille alphabet cards
you need or to track down the service clubs in your area. Please contact me
at kelly at dls.net or 847.390.1738.

Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from many of you.

Kelly
