Subject: [napub] Very disappointed

Dear Listers,

I just got a big, big disappointment! I asked my local school
district if they wanted a six-volume "Selections from the American
Vest Pocket dictionary" in Braille. I had the idea it would give
students a chance to see a real dictionary, run their fingers down
the left side of the page the way people do when they look for a
word. Also, they could understand what guide words are and what they
do.

They didn't want it! "We do all that stuff electronically."

I'm heartbroken. What does this say about really "looking" at things
in Braille? Am I an old fuddy-duddy, or what? Isn't there any, any
experience to be learned from having such a thing around just to look
at? I need a tissue!
