Description: Beginners or intermediate students are welcome.
This new class is for individuals with
visual impairments who wish to seriously explore sculpture or continue to
build their own sculpture skills.
Students will work with water based clay to create a one half to life-size
human bust.
Instructors:
The class will be taught by experienced teacher and sculptor, Ralph
Cossentino. A native of Italy, Ralph's love for art has inspired him to
depict the human figure since his teenage years. He has studied at the
American Academy of Art. The School of the Art Institute, The Palette and
Chisel Academy of Fine Arts and Clinard Sculptures and drawings have been
displayed in various galleries throughout Chicago.
Working along side Ralph to teach non-visual sculpture techniques is
sculptor Peg White who is visually impaired herself. Peg's passion for art
led her to sculpture several years ago. She has since achieved many levels
of figurative sculpture. The experience and knowledge that Peg brings to the
class is an enormous asset to the students.
Class size is limited. For more information, contact Ralph Cossentino at
