Subject: Chicago Lighthouse Scholarship Awards - May 7 deadline

Good afternoon,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that the application deadline for
the 2010-2011 Chicago Lighthouse Scholarship Awards is less than two months
away. Postsecondary students of all ages who are blind or visually impaired
(with a best corrected visual acuity of 20/60 or less in the better eye) are
welcome to apply, including those pursuing two-year, undergraduate, graduate
and advanced degrees as either full-time or part-time students. This
scholarship program is nationwide so students do not need to reside in
Illinois to qualify. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 and may
include multi-year awards.

Students can download application materials from our Web site
(www.thechicagolighthouse.org<http://www.thechicagolighthouse.org>). Here
you will find the scholarship
application<http://chicagolighthouse.org/sites/default/files/u83/scholarship_App_2009-web.pdf>
as well as the vision
report<http://chicagolighthouse.org/sites/default/files/u83/vision-form_copy.pdf>
to be completed by an eye doctor, which is used to verify a student's visual
impairment. Please contact me if you'd like a paper copy of the application
materials mailed to you. I can be reached at 312-666-1331 ext. 3089 or
kelsey.thompson at chicagolighthouse.org<mailto:kelsey.thompson at chicagolighthouse.org>.

The application deadline is May 7, 2010.

Please feel free to share this information with any students who may be
interested.

Thanks!
Kelsey
