Hi all,

 

Renee West of NFB Newsline is looking for a possible member of each NFB
chapter to help with marketing Newsline. Below is a description of the
position. I was contacted and asked if anyone from IABS would be interested
in representing our chapter.

ROLE OF CHAPTER NFB-NEWSLINE® COORDINATOR

 

The chapter NFB-NEWSLINE® coordinator, working in tandem with the affiliate
coordinator and the chapter president, will serve to engage in promotional
activities for NFB-NEWSLINE®.  He or she will:

 

§     Have an understanding about service offerings and access methods

(training will be provided);

§     Work with the affiliate coordinator and other chapter members to

locate possible sites for presentations and demonstrations of the service;

§     Visit appropriate groups and locations to provide information about

NFB-NEWSLINE®; 

§     Occasionally (perhaps yearly) offer a NFB-NEWSLINE® demonstration to

the chapter;

§     With the affiliate coordinator, find appropriate venues to hand out

or place NFB-NEWSLINE® promotional materials, and work to ensure continued
availability of materials at these local venues;

§     In cooperation with the affiliate coordinator, place information and

updates about NFB-NEWSLINE® into local newspapers, magazines, or Web sites
that focus on human-interest stories and the local community;

§     Participate in Webinar trainings to learn about new access methods

or become comfortable with unfamiliar aspects of NFB-NEWSLINE®.

§     Receive and read the e-newsletter created for chapter coordinators;

and

§     Forward thoughts, needs, and experiences through the affiliate

coordinator so that I may be of help in supporting and improving this
program.

 

Most importantly, your efforts will help to enrich the lives of your fellow
blind in your communities!  

 

I and the affiliate coordinator will endeavor to provide whatever support
and assistance you need so that you can most easily and successfully fulfill
your role as chapter coordinator.
