Please note that this incredible $20K scholarship opportunity is open to
student-athletes of all ability levels, including those who participate in
Paralympic sport opportunities. I appreciate your support and assistance to
share this information widely as we had just 120 applicants last year.
Surely you know someone, or can pass this along to someone, who can help
spread the word to help these kids.

World Sport Chicago (WSC), the legacy organization of Chicago 2016's Olympic
and Paralympic Bid, created the World Sport Chicago Scholarship Program to
reward Chicago high school student-athletes for their demonstrated
commitment to athletics, academics and the Olympic values of excellence,
friendship and respect. Up to 50 Chicago high school juniors will receive
Kaplan ACT tutoring and a year-long Chicago Scholars mentoring program,
which guides students through the college application process. The WSC
Scholars will also have the opportunity to interview for one of 10 renewable
college scholarships worth up to $5,000 annually ($20,000 total), supported
by WSC and Chicago donors.

To be eligible, students must:

. Be high school juniors

. Live and attend school in Chicago

. Maintain a 2.0 unweighted GPA or higher

. Participate in an eligible Olympic/Paralympic sport for two
seasons in the last three years. Athletes of all abilities are encouraged
to apply!

. Be willing to fulfill the WSC Scholar Duties

Applications are available at www.wscscholars.org; all materials must be
received by November 16, 2011 in order to be considered.

Questions? Contact Stephanie Miller at wscscholars at worldsportchicago.org or
call 312-861-4946.

THANKS!
