We should have no more than four. So, we have enough attendees now. We need a lead speaker and we will need a planning meeting. It is important to send the clearest message possible. Please be aware that non-NFB issues will not be covered. Who is going to make these appointments?

The Illinois Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind has two listservs for all interested in blindness issues in IL. IL-Talk is for everyone and IABS-Talk is specific for those interested in student issues. Sign up by going to www.nfbnet.org.

Please give to the National Federation of the Blind Annual Appeal by sending to NFBI, c/o Glenn Moore, Treasurer PO Box 1065 Elgin, IL 60121.

PS. Find us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/nfbi and on facebook by searching on "National Federation of the Blind of Illinois."

Dave Meyer tells me he is also interested. How many people do we need on one appointment?

Subject: Meeting with Illinois Senators

Dear Robert, Edwin and Debbie,

Thank you for your enthusiasm for meeting with Senators Kirk and Durbin! Now, we need to plan our meeting. I need one of you to volunteer contacting both offices and scheduling a meeting. It looks like they are in the same building, just one floor apart, so it makes sense to make the meetings back to back.

Here is the contact info for their offices in Chicago:

Senator Kirk
230 South Dearborn
Suite 3900
Chicago, IL 60604
Phone: 312-886-3506

230 S Dearborn St.
Suite 3892
Chicago, IL 60604
Phone: (312) 353-4952

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for your enthusiasm for this important issue!

Rose Sloan
Assistant Legislative Director, NFBI
