BLIND SERVICE ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
FOR 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR.

Blind Service Association, a Chicago based non-profit private agency serving blind and visually impaired youth and adults, will award scholarships up to $3,000 to qualified legally blind residents who live in Chicago or one of the six surrounding counties (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will). Students who plan to attend an accredited undergraduate, graduate, vocational, technical or professional school full or part-time during the 2014/2015 academic year are eligible to apply.

Awards can be used toward tuition, books, computer equipment, or for any other expenditure to help further the student’s education. Students must fill out an application form, write a brief autobiographical essay, as well as supply letters of recommendation, transcripts, an eye report, and a valid state I.D. The deadline for applications is April 1st 2014. Awards are based on academic record, community service and need. All applications are reviewed and applicants judged by a scholarship committee.
