> Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning Week of 1/25
> Adams Street Bridge Closure Affecting Several Downtown Buses; Diversey Brown Line Station Temporarily Impacted by Maintenance Work
>
> The CTA is notifying customers that the upcoming closure of the Adams Street Bridge by the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will affect seven CTA bus routes downtown beginning on January 25. Customers are advised to check individual bus schedules that may be impacted by the service changes and plan ahead.
>
> Separately, Kimball-bound Brown Line train service will also be temporarily affected at the Diversey station this weekend due to track maintenance work.
>
> In addition, the CTA will provide extra service for customers heading to upcoming Blackhawks and Bulls games at the United Center.
>
> Customers should allow extra travel time.
>
> Adams Street Bridge Closure
> Beginning on January 25 at 4 a.m. or the start of bus service, the Adams Street Bridge closure will affect the following seven CTA bus routes downtown: #1 Bronzeville/Union Station, #7 Harrison, #28 Stony Island, #121 Union/Streeterville Express, #126 Jackson, #151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle. The #130 Museum Campus route will also be affected beginning Memorial Day.
>
> The closure will require reroutes in the immediate surrounding area and will also require the temporary relocation, removal and/or addition of bus stops along the affected routes. In general, most affected routes will be detoured from Adams to Van Buren via Wacker. Customers boarding and alighting buses near Union Station will also be affected. CTA will work closely with CDOT to provide the most convenient service possible for persons traveling in the area.
>
> CTA is working to notify customers of the upcoming impacts both at bus stops and on the web at transitchicago.com. Customers are advised to check individual bus schedules and changes that are impacted and to plan ahead.
>
> The closure of Adams Street Bridge is expected to last approximately 13 months. For more information on the Adams Street Bridge closure, please visit: http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/cdot/supp_info/Adams_Street_Bridge_Closing.html.
>
> Kimball-bound Trains to Temporarily Bypass Diversey Station

> Loop-bound (southbound) Brown Line trains are unaffected and will continue to serve all stations.
>
> Kimball-bound customers who wish to exit at Diversey will need to travel to Wellington and then transfer to a Loop-bound (southbound) train.
>
> Kimball-bound customers traveling from the Diversey station will need to board a Loop-bound train to Fullerton and transfer to a Kimball-bound train.
>
> Normal service will resume at approximately 5 p.m. each day.
