A Federationist from Indiana sent this note to help promote our seminar. It is a very strong statement, and you're welcome to edit as needed and use it to help spread the word.

Subject: Spring Parents & Teachers Seminar: April 15-16 Event In Chicago

Sam, here's another great activity that would teach you some important stuff and allow you to network with some awesome people in the Federation and probably beyond it, too.

It's put on by the Illinois Association of Blind Students, and it's a two-day event that happens every spring. This year it's Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16 at

The Chicago Marriott-Midway Hotel
6520 S. Cicero Avenue
Chicago, Il. 60638.

This is two full days of presentation, appropriate for visually impaired students, parents/guardians of visually impaired children, and instructors of visually impaired children. The keynote speaker alone looks to be worth it. Her name is Carlton Anne Cook Walker, and she is a bulldog in our movement: an attorney with her own practice who is the parent of a blind teenager and who has gotten so committed to our principles that she has even become a credentialed instructor of blind children herself.

This event is put on each year courtesy of the Illinois Association of Blind Students (IABS); but a lot of folks from Indiana do participate--including Sarah Meyer and Mika Baugh of our own state's student division.

Log onto http://nfbofillinois.org/?page_id=598 to learn more or to register, if you can make it. If I were still an official student, I think I would go.

Warm regards,

-Kane
