Subject: [humanser] Diversity in Psychology Program
Good morning, all,
I received the following announcement through my department where I'm obtaining my Master's. I think this sounds like an amazing opportunity and am considering it myself. Note that travel and lodging expenses are covered. Also note that under psychology, there are 8 different concentrations ranging from neuroscience to social psychology to counseling psychology to industrial/organizational...and more.

Subject: FW: [Cogdop] Undergraduate Diversity in Psychology Event at the University of Minnesota
Students, look closely at the eligibility for this program; they are drawing the diversity circle wider than race/ethnicity.
I am pleased to announce that we will once again partner with Ed Psych and Psychology on the fourth annual Diversity in Psychology Program scheduled for Wednesday evening through Friday morning on October 10th
- 12th, 2018.
The Diversity in Psychology Program is designed for individuals who are historically under-represented in psychology graduate programs and who are interested in learning about graduate training in the Department of Psychology, the Institute of Child Development, or Educational/School Psychology. The program will feature a coordinated set of formal and informal experiences designed to familiarize participants with strategies for constructing successful graduate school applications, and to provide them with the opportunity to learn more about the experience of graduate education in our departments.
Individuals who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
• Participants who are enrolled in a college or university as a junior
or senior, or who have graduated within the last two years (i.e., 2016 or thereafter). Individuals currently enrolled in a terminal masters-level graduate program in psychology also are eligible.
(Students enrolled in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program are ineligible.)
• Participants who identify as a member of groups under-represented in
graduate training in psychology, including members of ethnic and racial minority groups, low-income, persons with disability, military veterans, LGBTQ+, and participants who are first- generation college students or graduates.
• Participants who are committed to pursuing doctoral training in
psychology in one of our three departments.
The deadline for the receipt of applications is Wednesday, August 15,
2018 at 5 pm (CST). Application information can be found here:
https://cla.umn.edu/psychology/graduate/diversity-and-inclusion/diversity-psychology-program
Applicants are encouraged to review the graduate program areas, including faculty profiles, prior to submitting their applications.
