abetes/> Your Health and Vision: The Impact of Diabetes

Friday, November 15, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

November is Diabetes Awareness month. Coping with diabetes and the
complication of vision loss is extremely difficult. This is an opportunity
for those who are impacted to share their feelings and encourage each other
in their journey with this disease.

At this new workshop for people with diabetes, we'll discuss:

*	the feelings of guilt about past behaviors that may have impacted
health and vision,
*	the fear of future health outcomes and
*	the positive things people are doing to manage their condition.

Call in option is available. To learn more, email

ng-and-leading-a-support-group/vision-loss-resources/low-vision-basics/>
human guide not only helps the person with vision loss, but can educate the
general public on how best to escort someone with vision loss. This training
can help reduce instances of grabbing and pushing that commonly occurs when
a person needs some extra help navigating through their environment.
Working with a partner, people will learn to effectively communicate with
each other and travel in a variety of situations. While this workshop is
geared to those with vision loss, sighted individuals who are unfamiliar
with the human guide method are also welcome to attend. Space is limited.
To register, call 312-236-8569 or email

For our call in option, please dial 312-582-2994. Use conference bridge 301
