Minutes of meeting held Sunday, October 3rd, 2021

Members Present: President Dave Meyer, Secretary Bill Reif, Denise 
Avant, Linda Hendle, Yvonne Agyarko, Debby Pittman, Danny Mandrell. 
Visitors: Ken Schad, Eileen Truschke, Steve Hastalas, Cathy Randall.

The agenda order was switch to allow Denise to lead off with the State 
Presidential Report for Marilyn, who could not attend. She began by 
discussing our upcoming hybrid convention, themed stronger than the 
pandemic, strongly urging that we register before the October 7 
deadline after which fees would be higher. Due to pandemic 
considerations, Kids Camp is canceled. Attendees are to forward 
negative Covid-19 test results taken within 72 hours of convention to 
Patti Chang. Illinois has added cosponsor Danny Davis to HR431, our 
Access Technology Affordability Act.

The program item concerned meeting etiquette generally, and Zoom 
meeting etiquette in particular. Dave reminded people it is distracting 
and somewhat disrespectful to interrupt presenters with questions 
during their presentations. There will almost always be opportunity to 
ask at specified times or after the presentation. If people have 
questions regarding items on the agenda, they should be asked when that 
agenda item is up for discussion, not before hand. Dave reminded us 
that with respect to motions, the sequence is the motion, the second, 
discussion and then the vote. Some of us have waited until a vote is in 
process or even concluded before raising discussion points. With regard 
to Zoom, Dave indicated that he will continue the practice of allowing 
people to mute/unmute, since some have complained of not being able to 
raise their hand or successfully unmute. Raising or lowering ones hand 
can be done using star-9 on a touch phone, Alt-y on a PC, or within the 
more menu on an iPhone at the bottom right part of the screen. 
Muting/unmuting can be done using star-6 on a touch phone, alt-a on a 
PC, or the mute/unmute button on an iPhone at the lower left of the 
screen. Finally: Dave requested that those who phone in to meetings 
identify themselves by name when requested to do so. The host or cohost 
can then assign a phone number.

Cathy Move, and Kyle seconded, that the May 2021 minutes be approved as 
distributed. Motion passed with amendment. Kyle moved, and Linda 
seconded, approval of the September minutes.

Cathy moved and Bill seconded that the At Large Chapter contribute $25 
to the NFBI as part of Fifteen for Funds. The motion passed.

The next meeting was scheduled for November 7th, 2021 at 7:00.

The meeting adjourned at 8:03 PM.
