[IABS-Talk] Legislative Alert, H.R. 4853 Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act

Hello all,

We need to continue with our work to get cosponsors for H.R. 4853, the
Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act.

We are looking to build bipartisan support for this legislation. If you live
in Rep. Adam Kinzinger's district (R. IL 16), or know someone who does,
please reach out to him and request that he cosponsor the bill.

The bill's original sponsor is  Jan Schakowsky, (D IL. 9). Illinois has four
cosponsors. They are: Rep. Casten, Sean [D-IL-6], Rep. Davis, Danny K.
[D-IL-7], Rep. Krishnamoorthi, Raja [D-IL-8], and Rep. Newman, Marie
[D-IL-3]

If your representative is not on this list, please write or call their
offices and ask for their support.

 

You might say something like: "Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME], and I am a
constituent of [REPRESENTATIVE NAME]. I live in [CITY, STATE]. I would like
to urge [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to cosponsor the Medical Device Nonvisual
Accessibility Act, H.R. 4853. This legislation would ensure that blind
Americans can have the same opportunity to independently monitor their
various medical needs and care for themselves as other nondisabled
Americans, thereby making us more self-sufficient and less reliant on others
for our medical care.
