Hello everyone,

The Illinois Association of Blind Students (IABS) invites you to our upcoming virtual event:

Your Rights, Your Voice: Navigating Accessibility in College
đź“… Date: Sunday, September 28, 2025
Time: 7:00 PM (Central Time)
Location: Zoom (link will be shared soon)

This event is designed to give blind and low vision students a clear understanding of how the accommodation process works in college and how it differs from the supports received in high school. Our goal is to empower you to advocate for yourself with confidence.

We’ll cover topics such as:

  *   The difference between IDEA in K-12 and ADA/Section 504 in college

  *   Communicating effectively with Disability Resource Centers and professors

  *   Examples of common accommodationsfor blind students in higher ed

  *   Practical self-advocacy tips and problem-solving strategies

No registration is required, just join us on Zoom at the event time.
