 "The fierce urgency of now..."
This quote originally stated by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., repeated by Barack Obama during his inauguration speech, is so fit at this time in the March for Independence/Imagination Fund campaign sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). NFB has an urgent need, a fierce need for participation and donations. By registeriing for this event through http://www.marchforindependence.org/, you are volunteering some time to send out some e-mails to some friends and colleagues. Making a donation yourself is not required. You put in the time and talent, what follows is a treasure that will help put Braille in the hands of blind kids. Your effort will sponsor science, education, math, and technology (STEM) programs for blind teens interested in these fields. Your attempt to garner donations from a few will help newly blinded veterans, college students, and seniors losing vision and their families. A few hours online, sending an e-mail or two, can literally change what it means to be blind for so many! Register to participate as a marcher or a virtual marcher at http://www.marchforindependence.org/. When you register you'll get your own Web page and all the tools you"ll need to spend a little time changing a lot of lives.

For more about how money raised through the March for Independence and the Imagination Fund changes what it means to be blind visit http://www.marchforindependence.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=5145.

Remember: Anyone who registers to help before February 1, 2009, is put in a drawing for a knfbReader Mobile phone. The knfbReader cell phone is a state of the art mobile telephone.
