As we've told you before, the ABLE Group -- the Braille reading group within the Blackhawk Chapter -- has entered the NFB Braille Readers Are Leaders adult contest.  So here is our progress after the first week of the two-month contest:  

Wow, what a bunch of over-achievers!  Everyone had a weekly goal for the contest, and when these were added up, our team goal was to read 277 pages of Braille per week.  And at the end of the first week, we read 477 pages!  

Go team go!  

Another note:  we have 4 team members, all of us in the "beginner" category based on our Braille reading speed.  A recent message from the contest director showed 42 beginners in the adult contest throughout the whole country (or maybe the world).  So the ABLE Team makes up 10% of all the beginner entries in the whole country!
